Strategic Rationale

Where Alumni Pride Meets
Purpose-Driven Investment.

A formal, structured, and transparent development initiative bringing modern student housing to the heart of Ekiti State University.

The Background

A Recognised Need.
A Considered Response.

Ekiti State University (EKSU) has long grappled with a significant shortfall in quality student accommodation. The existing on-campus housing stock is insufficient to meet demand, leaving many students exposed to the challenges of off-campus living — from high rental costs to safety concerns and the distraction of long daily commutes.

The 50-Room Alumni Legacy Hostel was conceived as a direct response to this challenge. Initiated by Bowie & Acworth Ventures Ltd and developed in formal partnership with the EKSU Alumni Association (Worldwide), the project harnesses private capital to deliver infrastructure that public funding has not yet been able to provide.

"It is a model that works: private development expertise, alumni ownership pride, institutional credibility, and a long-term lease structure that protects all parties."

35 YRS
The Lease Structure

A 35-Year Partnership with the University.

The hostel will be developed on EKSU campus land under a formal 35-year lease arrangement with the university. This structure ensures the long-term sustainability of the investment while maintaining the hostel's integration within the university's broader campus ecosystem.

At the conclusion of the lease period, the hostel asset reverts to the university — making this project not just a commercial investment, but a genuine legacy gift to the institution.

Objectives

What We Are Here to Achieve.

Deliver 50 modern, purpose-built student rooms on the EKSU campus within 11 months of project initiation.
